Tour Description

We leave Hanoi early to reach our first destination, We drive on small secondary roads, winding along forests and valleys. Landscapes are wild after Thai Nguyen city. Lunch on the road. Arrival at Cho Ra at the beginning of afternoon, and take a boat waiting for you at Buoc Lo harbour. You will then continue visiting the village of Ban Cam from the Tay ethnicity located on the shore of the river. Afterwards, the boat vill take you to the Dau Dang village, also a Tay village. Night by the waterfalls at our friend Ong Pirate’s house, the chef of the jungle. Distances / Timing: ~ 235km ~ 6h. A full day to enjoy the National Park. In the morning we go for a walk by the Nang river until the waterfalls of Dau Dang. We come back to take a boat to cross the Nang river and begin the treck throught the Hills. During the walking we cross several villages and pay a visit to our H’mong, Dao, Tay friends lost in the forest.We finally reach the Lake of Ba Be where a boat waits for us. Then,we cross the lake to get to the village of Pac Ngoi and have rest. We spend the night at Mr. Manh’s home the cook of the jungle. From a majestic lake to another. Long but beautiful ride, totally off the touristy tracks. We arrive on the banks of the Thac Ba lake by a small and nice road going up and down through palm trees. We are welcomed by the Dao Quan Trang family and the apprentices at our sustainable education, culture and ecotourism project: LAVIEVULINH. Depending on the time left you can enjoy different activities: traditional boat riding, cycling, bathing, trekking…. Several activities of cultural immersion or physical activities in the surrounding jungle available for longer stays (from 2 days onwards). Three choices of accommodation, from the traditional Dao stilt house to the luxurious studios with view to the lake, depending on your budget. Short stage today, so we can enjoy a bit more the lake this morning. Beautiful stage. Around 2 hours of wild track. For novice bikers, 2 on a Minsk, the guide can give a hand and take the passenger, in particular when we reach a pass. You need to know well your Minsk to optimize his power during “hot situation”, if not you can burn out the clutch. By car only a four wheel can go, if not we choose another itinerary. After the track, easy road, various landscape, no much traffic, and reward at the end of the stage : Warm welcoming in a nice stilt house, and delicious family meal. In the morning we can pay a visit to friends, the Red Dao neighbors of the ‘upper” village. The singularity of this village is to be from a former matriarchal custom. We need to climb 2km in the jungle to reach it. We then hit again the road, driving through Red Dao and Flower H’mong territories. Depending on the trip, we can drive on the track along the Chay river. We enter in the mountain ranges between China and Vietnam, magnificent sceneries. We drive to Lung Phin, 15km from Bac Ha. We are developing a branch of our project LaVieVuLinh in partnership with a H’mong family. Their house is located in the middle of a beautiful mountainous site, totally unknown from tourism. This is the opportunity for you to discover this area from inside, to give a boost to this social, cultural and economic project.
At the end of the afternoon, we will head towards Lao Cai. We take the night train to come back softly in Hanoi. Arrival around 5h30am next morning.  6h20: Departure from Hanoi The guide will come & pick you to your hotel. Then, your driver will take you to Haiphong. 8h30: Arrival to Hai Phong. Overthere, you will take a speed boat to go to Cat Ba Island (40-60 minutes) where our boat are fixed. You will take a cab or a xe om (motorbike taxi) to get to the home base (5 minutes). 10h: Start cruising in Halong bay You will start the cruising sailing across a floating village. Lunch You will do a break in a quiet place. As the crew will prepare lunch, you will enjoy swimming or sailing with a traditional craft for exploring around. After lunch, the cruising will go on. You will help the crew for lifting the sails. You will also ask for a short lesson of sailing! Dinner and overnight on board on the roof (outside) or in the cabin (inside) in a creek. You will wake up in a magical place enjoying quiet area where you could only hear bird. After breakfast, you will go on discovering charms of Halong Bay. You will visit a little creek with the craft. If you want, you will also do a fishing contest with the crew! 14h: End of the cruising  You will do the same itinerary as the first way. 14h45: Speed boat to Haiphong 16 h: Return to Hanoi by car 18 h – 18h 30: arrival to Hanoi Distances / Timing: Road: Fast road
